Participants will learn how to paint directly on 16 mm film, as well as modify and alter existing 16 mm film imagery. At the end of the workshop we will project and transfer the final films to video. This workshop will be led by experimental filmmakers and RAW STOCK members Peter Sandmark and Trace Nelson.

RAW STOCK Film Collective was formed in late 2023 by a group of 4 media artists from Victoria BC:  Anthony Carr, Dave Johnson, Trace Nelson and Peter Sandmark. Their mandate fosters analogue art practices, workshops and screenings to represent the importance and uniqueness of expanded cinema.
